What We’re Listening To: 5 Bands The Cribs Recommend

Having arisen like a phoenix out of the U.K. garage rock scene of the early ’00s, The Cribs have reinvented themselves many times over, evolving from brash, lo-fi youngsters, to fidgety dance-punks, to journeyman rockers.
Their new album, For All My Sisters, was produced by Ric Ocasek (yes, that Ric Ocasek, of ’80s legends The Cars) and features some of their slickest jams to date, songs alive with Weezer-leaning pop melodies that swing as much as they punch.
The Cribs will perform at The StubHub Music Experience at the Southwest by Southwest Music Festival on March 18 at 10 p.m. CT. We asked frontman Gary Jarman, who currently resides in Portland, about the music he’s been inspired by lately.
